Hallelujah! Today the weather is gorgeous in Colorado Springs. Claire and her friend Lizzie had gymnastics and afterwards we couldn't stand just going home. We got lunch and headed to the park! Jake has turned into quite the daredevil at the park and is climbing to the top of everything including the slide tower which has gaping holes on the sides. He scares his mom to death! I can't get to the top as quick as he does!!! I think he keeps a sneaky eye on me because as soon as he sees me coming he is off and running

The signs of Spring...

I can't believe it but I think that Spring has finally arrived in Colorado. I am sure we will still have a day or two of snow sneak in before summer but we sure are enjoying the sunshine!! Here are a few of the things we have done outside in the last week or so... Jake loves spending every second he can with his Dad! He thought it was pretty cool to help Dad fertilize the lawn.

On Friday the kids didn't have school so we headed out to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with some friends. It was a gorgeous day and we had such a blast!! I wish we had a picture of the Gorillas! They were hillarious! At one point, the kids were standing at the glass egging the dad gorilla on by pounding on their chests. He was acting like he was ignoring them and just basking in the sun. Slowly he walks over to the glass (the kids are still pounding on their chests) stands up as tall as he can beats on his chest and then takes his forearm and pounds on the glass. The kids screamed in fear and about fell over in suprise! The moms had a great laugh!! When he was done showing us who was boss he walked back over to his rock and layed down basking in the sun again. That was the hardest I have laughed in awhile!

Saturday was another gorgeous day so we spent some time at the park with a picnic! It was a little windy (okay, a lot windy) but we still had a great time!

This is Kent's version of giving Abbie a ride on the swings. Ouch!!

Science Fair

Abbie did her first Science Fair project! Kent and I counted and we have at least 11 more to do with all of our kids (they do them in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades). That will get us through elementary school and who knows what will happen in Middle School and High School. Kent enjoys doing them with the kids though so I am off the hook!

Abbie did hers on "Will Certain Chemical Kill a Plant?" She fed each of three plants water, bleach, and Dr. Pepper. To our suprise the Dr. Pepper plant grew the tallest and healthiest!!

Cadets from the Air Force Academy judged the projects. Each of the students had to explain their projects to two different judges. We were so proud of Abbie!!

Trip to Moab

Over the girls Spring break we decided to head to Moab with some close friends. Since we were going to be so close to my sisters and "the cousins" we decided they had to come join us. It was so beautiful and the kids had so much fun playing, hiking, and laughing together!

What a cutie Abbie is!

Claire and her buddy "Kaiser bean"! (Where do we get our nicknames from- I am not sure!!)

Jake trying to climb rocks like the big kids

We were having such a fabulous time (minus our friends daughter Nicole who broke her arm!) until....

Jake grabbed the hot pipe on Kent's dirt bike! It was so scary!!! After a trip to the Moab emergency room he was doing much better.

So, we have spent the last week and a half in and out of the burn clinic here in Colorado Springs getting his bandages changed. Jakey is doing much better and because of the blessing he recieved it is healing quickly. He is such a trooper!!!

We love Easter Sunday! I love everything about it - the egg hunts, new dresses, chocolate, etc. but most importantly I love going to church with my family and hearing the wonderful music and talks about the Savior. We had a wonderful FHE on the Resurrection and I am just so greatful for my eternal family!
