Hurray!!

What was I doing tonight you might ask. I was cuddled up in bed early, with Kent out of town, making a hard decision. So much good fall television to choose from. Survivor, Greys Anatomy, and The Office all on at the same time! What did I choose? If you knew me well you would know... (it really wasn't even close!)

Where have we been???

Sorry Mom that it has been so long since I have posted (I got your e-mail!) Yes, everyone is happy and well. Here are some of the reasons I haven't posted... A) my computer is slow and driving me nuts! B) The weather has been gorgeous and we've been outside C) Jake's been fussy with an ear infection and D) the weather has been nice and we've been outside! I promise to do better for you Mom. We miss you all and can't wait to see you soon!

Here's what Kent has been up too.

He has spent the last couple of weekends building this shed in our backyard. He's waiting on a door, that has been ordered, to come in and then he can stucco it to match our house. It will be nice to have a home for all those things that take up too much room in our garage like the lawn mower, etc.

Labor Day

We woke up extra early on Labor Day this year to check out the hot air balloon festival at Memorial Park. What a blast! It was well worth the sleepy eyes that hit far to early in the afternoon. After, the balloon festival we headed up to the mountains with our good friends the Johnsons to let the kids (and Dads) go crazy on the quads. We found a perfect spot just past Woodland Park that was shaded by some pine trees but open enough for the kids to ride around. It was a fabulously exhausting Labor Day!

Jake was just cracking us up! Kent kept taking him for rides on this little 50 and then when it was someone elses turn for a ride he would get off and head over to the Johnson's 50 that has training wheels. He climbed on and would seriously stand up and try to kick start it. Then he would sit down and try to push it forward while revving the handle and say, "vroom vroom". He couldn't figure out why is wasn't going anywhere. He wanted so badly to get out there on his own. He would have if he could have kick started it! I am a little frightened for what the future holds!!

The Johnson's borrowed this 4wheel drive thing called a Rhino from a friend. It was so much fun and we loved that we could strap in a car seat. Kent and Warren were kids again seeing how much air they could catch off the jumps (without the babies in the passenger seat of course!)

Abbie's cooking

This has been the summer of Abbie in the kitchen. She has found a new passion for baking. Her first attempt at sugar cookies were, lets say, a little nasty. Since then she has discovered that she should pay attention to the tsp. on the recipe and not just use the cups. (yes, she put in 1/4Cup baking soda, 1/4 Cup salt, and 1/4 cup cinnamon!) After that first attempt she really has done awesome and loves to make cakes, brownies, and all kinds of cookies. Her favorites are these peanut butter cookies that only have 3 ingredients!!
