Pumpkin Patch

We had a fabulous time at the pumpkin patch this year. The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a blast. I am so grateful for wonderful friends that make days like this so fun and make it a little bit easier knowing that my family is far away.

Abbie's goal was to come home with the biggest pumpkin. If someone else found a bigger one she would head back out to find one that was even bigger!

She is 5!!!

Today is our Claire Bear's Birthday!!! We love her so much. Here are 10 of our favorite things about her.

1. She has a hilarious sense of humor

2. She makes friends easily. Every day that I go to pick up Claire at the YMCA child watch she comes running to me saying, "Mom, I made a new friend today!"

3. She has an adorable dimple in her chin just like her dad

4. The way she says hamburger "han-ga-mer"

5. The way she is so clumsy and when she falls she gets right back up, looks around, and says, "I'm okay, I'm okay!" (she's already had 2 casts and a set of stitches)

6. She's so loud (just like her aunt Carrie!) and we love it!!!!

7. She is a fantastic big sister to Jakey. Sometimes she loves him a little to rough!!

8. I love that she is my little buddy during the day.

9. She shares her love equally. For example, if she is giving Kent some hugs and kisses and says "I love you" she will quickly look over at me and say,"but I still love you too mommy!"

10. She is one of a kind, unique in her own special way and we couldn't love her more!!!

Conference Weekend

We were able to attend the Sunday morning session of conference in the Conference Center. What an awesome experience!!! It was so fun to sit with Abbie and see all of her excitment. What a treat to get to go with her cousins Drake and Sadie, Aunt Jodi, Nana, Papa, and Great Grandma Rula. I hope it was an experience she will remember forever. What an amazing feeling it was to be in such an enormous arena and when the Prophet walks in everyone stands and it is so quiet you could hear a pin drop. It was such a great day spent with people I love so much!

Kent was the hero of the day! He changed a flat tire on Nana's rental van in the rain (in his shirt and tie) and still got everyone there with plenty of time to spare.

standing in line...it was raining before we went in and was absolutely gorgeous when we came out.

Kate's a cheerleader!

Liberty High School has a really cool program where young girls can pay to go to an all day cheer camp and then cheer and perform a dance at a football game. Abbie wanted nothing to do with it and Kate was all over it! It was fun to see her so excited. Here are some pictures from the clinic and the game. I have a video of the dance too but my computer is being a stinker and won't download it. (I'll have Kent figure it out and post it later.)

Hurray!!

What was I doing tonight you might ask. I was cuddled up in bed early, with Kent out of town, making a hard decision. So much good fall television to choose from. Survivor, Greys Anatomy, and The Office all on at the same time! What did I choose? If you knew me well you would know... (it really wasn't even close!)

Where have we been???

Sorry Mom that it has been so long since I have posted (I got your e-mail!) Yes, everyone is happy and well. Here are some of the reasons I haven't posted... A) my computer is slow and driving me nuts! B) The weather has been gorgeous and we've been outside C) Jake's been fussy with an ear infection and D) the weather has been nice and we've been outside! I promise to do better for you Mom. We miss you all and can't wait to see you soon!

Here's what Kent has been up too.

He has spent the last couple of weekends building this shed in our backyard. He's waiting on a door, that has been ordered, to come in and then he can stucco it to match our house. It will be nice to have a home for all those things that take up too much room in our garage like the lawn mower, etc.
